Craftsbury Antiquarian Books is located in one of the most pristine, unspoiled villages of Vermont, about an hour' s drive north of Montpelier, and an easy one and one half hour from Burlington. We do not have an open shop, but you are welcome to browse our book room by appointment, especially if you are interested in our Asia, Africa, Middle East specialties. They dominate our inventory.
We exhibit our books at the Washington Antiquarian Book Fair each March, in Washington DC. We usually exhibit at several New England fairs, and at least one in New York City each year.
My wife and I lived for some years in Africa, India and the Middle East. So I know the literature, current and old, and enjoy contact with customers who share interests in countries and peoples of those continents. If I do not have a particular, special book in stock that you are seeking, I may be able to help you find it because of my contacts with foreign book dealers.
If you have questions about one or more books, or have books to sell, you are welcome to phone - 802 586 2495. Or send us an email at info@craftsburybooks.com

Most of the books in this Burton collection come from the personal library of Col. William Eddy, whose exploits in the OSS helped allied troops invade Morocco in WW Two. He then became Consul of American Embassy to Arabia, arranging the meeting and translating for President Roosevelt and King Saud on an American warship in the Red Sea in early 1945.
For more detail on this American hero, seeThomas Lippman's biography of Eddy, Arabian Knight, published in 2008.
